Nike+, 2006 launch
An oldie but goodie. Here is the original thinking from 2006. "Every 5 or 10 years Nike comes up with an iconic product such as the AF1, Air, Dunk... In the digital age the new icon is no longer another physical product, but 'digital sports,' kick-started with Nike+. An intuitive system combining music and sports, it tracks one’s workout activities and converts them into social currency that can be measured, shared, and improved..." Long story short, it makes sports fun and less painful, converting many who never touched sports into willing participants, myself included. (Apologies for the blurriness in this vintage case video.)
